Assistant Sales Manager
OTE £70,000+ (Uncapped)

Beck Evans an award-winning used car retailer are currently expanding their sales team and are looking for an experienced Sales Controller/ Assistant Sales Manager to join their busy Used Car Sales Team based in Sidcup. This is a newly developed role and will be yours to shape and manage, the sky really is the limit for the successful candidate who will be joining a talented target driven team.

Responsibility will include controlling the sales process, the prospecting activity of our Used Car sales team, this is a busy, productive, profitable team dealing with a huge number of customers, enquiries and sales leads, you will need to be organised, efficient and prepared to deputise for management in various responsibilities and areas of the day-to-day running of the department. We are exclusively seeking candidates who are operating as a Sales Controller, Deputy Sales Manager, Assistant Sales Manager, Sales Manager or Business Manager.

The main duties include:

  • Manage and motivate the sales team and provide training and advice where needed.
  • Controlling the sales process carried out by the department's Sales executives.
  • Help the Sales Executives manage their diaries effectively.
  • Fairly distributing incoming leads and enquiries to the sales team.
  • Drive Sales Executives' prospecting activity and providing regular progress reports on the 'sales funnel' to management.
  • Second-facing customers through the sales process for add-ons and finance.
  • Carry out vehicle part-exchange appraisals / valuations.
  • Hands on approach.
  • Ensure compliance to FCA regulations.
  • Stacking finance deals

We are looking for a professional and confident character who can fit straight into the team who possess car sales and Main dealership experience in one of the following roles: Assistant Sales Manager, Sales Controller, Transaction Manager or Retail Manager.

You will possess high energy, enthusiasm and the ability to think outside the box in achieving required sales volumes, managing and motivating the team, promoting certain financial products and services that match the customer requirements all the time working within the FCA and company guidelines.

You will also possess the ability to understand, anticipate and ultimately meet the customer needs, deliver excellent customer service be honest and transparent.

We pride ourselves in providing the very best cars on the market whilst offering an exceptional customer experience. Our prestige car stock includes some of the most iconic prestige brands, like Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Land Rover, Porsche, Bentley and much more.

The Role is to support the sales team, sales manager and accounts on a day to day basis. This will be done through the following duties:

  • Being the point of contact for the Sales department
  • Answering phone calls as well as email messages
  • Maintaining sales records, including spreadsheets and internal databases that track sales and customers
  • Creating and maintain sales files and contracts
  • Some bookkeeping, including product profits which feed into the sales teams commissions
  • Daily cash sheets to identify any payments taken either in cash or through the PDQ machine to make sure it all tallies with daily accounting.
  • Checking of all sales files that they are comply with FCA regulations
  • Super user for Auto protect to make sure that all sales personnel have completed their training for FCA products, including yourself
  • Updating of sales records to reflect all products that have been sold are attached to each customer eg. Warranties, GAP, SMART etc
  • Job cards to be filed and given to Accounts
  • Overflow of invoices to be input into system for accounts
  • All DVLA tax and V62's to be processed and be input against expenses
  • Ordering of stationary so that sales team can function and have right tools
  • Liaising with all other departments in the business
  • Keeping an orderly up to date filing system of all sales records
  • Add all V5's to the cars record on Click
  • Any other ad hoc duties should they arise
